Fort Worth is a city in North Central Texas. In the late 19th century, it became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, it's a modern city, with international art institutions like the Kimbell Art Museum.
In the Arts District, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Crow Collection of Asian Art cover thousands of years of art. The sleek Nasher Sculpture Center showcases contemporary sculpture.
The iconic, 171-ft. Reunion Tower offers sweeping views of Downtown’s many skyscrapers and shops. Bordering White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden features extensive landscaped gardens. At the Dallas World Aquarium, birds and marine life frolic in the re-created rainforest- and coral-reef habitats, while African wildlife can be spotted at the Dallas Zoo. The city’s fervent sports culture centers on the Dallas Cowboys football stadium and multiple golf courses. Considered part of the Dallas metropolitan area, the nearby city of Fort Worth is known for its museum-filled Cultural District.
The park also has the River Legacy Living Science Center, with aquariums, terrariums and interactive exhibits. The Dallas Cowboys football team plays at AT&T Stadium, which also hosts concerts.
The Globe Life Park is an open-air ballpark that’s home to the Texas Rangers baseball team. Nearby, Richard Greene Linear Park has a lake, stone sculptures, and a hiking trail. To the west, Randol Mill Park offers fishing ponds, sporting facilities, and a water park. Veterans Park, in West Arlington, features a military memorial with freestanding columns, plus a disc golf course, an equestrian trail, and a performing arts stage. The International Bowling Museum has exhibits tracing the game's history and culture. Temporary shows at the Arlington Museum of Art focus mainly on contemporary works, including ones by Texas artists.
The National Videogame Museum has rare gaming consoles and arcade machines. Next door, Sci-Tech Discovery Center offers hands-on exhibits for kids. To the northeast, Frisco Commons Park features playgrounds, a fishing pond, and an amphitheater.
